Tuna salad is one of my favorite summer salad recipes. The first reason is that it can be a great main dish, and the second reason is that I don’t need to bake or prepare anything. Just open the tuna can and add it to the salad. Tuna salad is always my main dish. I want to experiment with food so this recipe is something I always make different. Feel free to experiment and add more or fewer ingredients in it. This is a great recipe because it has everything inside, protein, carbs, fat, vitamins etc.

INGREDIENTS

Here are the ingredients you will need for this Tuna Salad Recipe.

  • 1 Can Tuna
  • Lettuce
  • 1 small Onion
  • 3 Boiled Eggs (optional)
  • ½ Can Sweet Corn
  • 1 Cucumber
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Olives

These ingredients are all you will need but feel free to add more or fewer ingredients. I sometimes make this salad without onion and eggs. Also, it is OK if you don’t have cucumber or put apple cider vinegar instead of a lemon juice. The only two ingredients you have to have are lettuce and tuna.



PREPARATION

Make sure the lettuce is well cleaned. If it is not, make sure to rinse it under water again Dry the lettuce well and start chopping. It is best to make this salad in a big bowl. You can chop the lettuce as you like just make sure it is not too much wet. When you are done with the lettuce, peel the cucumber (this is optional).

Then slice the cucumber into small cuts with a sharp knife and put the slices into the bowl with the lettuce. Open the sweet corn can and put half of it in the bowl. If you love corn feel free to add the whole can or if you don’t like corn just skip this part. Take the tuna can and open it. Drain the tuna in a strainer in the sink then put it in the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Now is the perfect time to add salt, lemon juice, and olive oil. I add salt by choice. Salt is something you can always add more but it is hard to take it out.

I love lemons so I put the juice of 1 lemon inside but feel free to add less or just add apple cider vinegar instead of a lemon juice.

When you finish this step, you can mix the salad well. Now peel and chop the onion and decorate your salad. If you decide to put eggs inside, boil them, peel them and put them on top of the salad. I sometimes forget but I often add olives in my salad.
