Recently I posted the diet that helped me lose more than 20 pounds in just two weeks.
But even if you were following another diet plan or just a healthy lifestyle here are my top 5 tips for staying fit after losing weight.
Losing weight is not easy and the worst feeling at least for me is when I see those pounds are coming back.
In order to maintain my weight loss I implement in my everyday life some healthy habits.
There are plenty of other ways to achieve the same goal but these are the easiest for me.
Drink more water.
While I was dieting I drank a lot of water to feel full. But this doesn’t mean to drink only water. I usually drink tea – no sugar!!! Green tea with lemon is my favorite, but I also love black tea especially in the morning. Also, what I always tend to do especially in the summer, I make drinks with lemon which are very good for digestion, help with constipation and digestive problems and also are very high in vitamin C and we all know how important is this vitamin not only for health but for losing weight too.
There are a lot of varieties for smoothies and not every person loves a smoothie, but the main reason why I love them is that they are very nutritious, high vitamin and can be a great breakfast. If you take a smoothie for breakfast you will easily maintain your weight or even lose more weight because you avoid taking so many calories of your usual breakfast and also you take your daily dose of vitamins naturally. Here are some of my favorite grapefruit smoothies.
Eat more protein.
Why eating more proteins is good for maintaining your weight? Eating more protein will make you feel full longer. If you are not a vegetarian or a vegan, this will be very easy for you. Chicken steak with veggies, beef with veggies, eggs with cottage cheese, yogurt with fruit, cheese, mushrooms, etc. Protein helps feel fuller longer because it slows down digestion and promotes muscle repair and growth also. High protein diets are great for losing weight so this is a great tip for losing weight too. Buckwheat is high protein and that is one of the reasons why I still eat buckwheat for breakfast or even dinner.
Walk every day.
I know it is sometimes hard to find time for exercising and that is why walking is so important to maintain weight loss. If you exercise you can skip this step. If you drive a car and don’t spend the time to walk to the bus station, you can always walk around your house, use the steps instead of the elevator or just go shopping. I love shopping and when I don’t have the money I just go “window shopping”. For walking, you need to buy comfortable walking shoes as a first place to start this activity because your feet may hurt. If you have a dog then great, take your dog and walk.
Eat homemade sweets.
I love candy! I love sweets. But something I learned Is that if I want to maintain weight loss I have to give up eating too much sugar. I am not saying to give up completely from sugar, but tend to cook sweets at home. There are many raw food recipes for sweets you can find online and I promise I will post more homemade and diet sweets.
