Do you want to be happy? Do you want to take control of your life and lose weight? Start this September Challenge with me! There is no past and there is no future. There is only this moment. If you want to heal your life start right away – at this moment. For this challenge, you will need only one thing – the motivation to live happily and get better. I know that almost every person in this world wants to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Most people tend to live in the future. I do believe that is good to think and plan for the future every day for several minutes to relax. But visualization and constantly living in the future is not the same. Many people lose themselves in their thoughts and forget how to enjoy the present moment.
They forget that the future does not exist. We are creating the future HERE AND NOW. I am creating this post now. Yes, I can visualize how this post will look but if I only imagine this post will never exist. Social media distractions, high expectations, and past mistakes are responsible for not being in the moment. That little voice in our head that we are not good enough, sexy enough, thin enough and beautiful.

The second post about living in the present moment is about food disorders. People diagnosed with food disorders suffer from a bad self-image, self-esteem and the ability to be present at the moment. People suffering from anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa have to get a therapy, but if you struggle with emotional overeating, difficulties with dieting and losing weight, you can help yourself with education and living in the present moment.

How To Lose Weight With Mindfulness? Losing Weight is Easy

How to lose weight and overcome food disorders by simply being present in the moment? How to lose weight with mindfulness?

Does it sound good? The truth is, losing weight is not that hard if you are living in the moment. I love to imagine myself thin and sexy, but I hate exercising and dieting. Don’t you do the same? Don’t you visualize how you lost weight while you are eating for two? I sure was and I have to admit that I am still learning how to live in the moment and I sometimes do live in my mind.

In my mind, I eat a balanced diet and I always enjoy the food. But in reality, I forget how to enjoy. Actually, I gain weight as a child when I was afraid there will be no food left for me so I was eating too much. I was in fear instead of enjoying my meal. I won’t write about that fear but I just gave my personal example of how I stopped enjoying the food.

Visualization is great and I do recommend it but only for several minutes a day. Just think of how many distractions you have. That is one of the reasons why I started this September challenge. To help you start living in the present moment.

Food Journal

How many meals a day do you have?
3 meals and 2 snacks are enough. Your job is to start a food journal. What do I eat every day? How many calories do I eat?
You will be surprised how much calories you eat. And how unnecessary food items you have.

Water journal

Why I drink water? FEEL that great moment when you are so thirsty and you drink water. The moment when the water slides down your throat. Just feel! Is the water cold? Write down what you felt. Make sure you are present while drinking water. The reason why is important to the journal is that you will for sure forget to feel and be present.
Eating is a habit. Drinking water is a habit too. So with these exercises, you will have a chance to make a new habit. Healthier for you and your family too.

Eat only your favorite food

So one week try to eat only what you love but only when you are hungry. It doesn’t matter what. Pancakes, chocolate chip cookies, meat, veggies, fruit, pizza, hot dogs, seafood etc. You must eat only what you love. Enjoy this! Enjoy every moment of eating your favorite meal. You can eat these foods every day for the rest of your life. The only thing is to eat when you are really hungry and to eat the proper amount. Being present and enjoying the taste of food every day will make you eat slowly and feeling full.

How many calories do I really need?

Check out how much calories do you really need. For example, my body needs 1800-2000 kcal a day. To lose weight I have to consume less than recommended.
When we have a habit to eat too many calories it is hard to start a new diet. But with you being present in the moment dieting won’t be so hard. There is no hunger! It is all in your mind. You know how much calories is enough for your body. Stay calm and try to find a way to let go of the desire to eat for comfort.

Start small

Living in the moment can be hard sometimes so the most important thing is to try. Try to be present. I know there are too many distractions and you will need some time to learn how to be present. Make sure you pay attention to your true needs. Every time you feel hunger stay calm and see if you are really hungry. What you would love to eat. How much you really need etc.

Remember that this is only the first step in changing your life. But if you succeed in learning your body, your true needs and wants, every diet you choose will be successful.

So next time when you reach for chips or chocolate, you will ask yourself do you really need that. You will be present and make a decision in the present moment. The choice is yours! My decision would be to be healthy and happy!

Don’t forget to nourish your soul from time to time if you choose a strict diet. Also, find a model. Find someone you like and copy his/her lifestyle. We all have role models.

The truth is, a child can’t choose a great role model. But you can! So choose wisely.

  1. Good tips. And the most important thing that I have experienced when trying to weight loss, we need to stay consistent on whatever method we are choosing. Weight loss is not only body shedding, its about reforming your strength you can overcome some great temptations which is not easy!
